- Support production and development server environment and participate in a 24/7 on call rotation
- Deploying java based e-commerce applications using BladeLogic/NSH
- Install, configure, and administer RedHat, SUSE SLES and SUN Solaris, Apache, Weblogic servers
- System monitoring using Sun native commands, open source tools, Gomez GPN, Zabbix OpenNMS, SmokePIng, NMON.
- Managing resources: disk storage, CPU and memory utilization
- Managing Veritas Netbackup for Solaris, Linux and Windows 2000 server environments
- Interact with application development and management teams, make infrastructure technology recommendations
- UNIX System Administration. Solaris 8,9,10, RedHat AS3.0, SUSE SLES9
- Veritas: Netbackup, Volume Manager, File system, and Clustering Solution
- Ability to write scripts with a focus on automation in sh or perl
- Apache
- RT (Request Tracker)
- Familiarity with Oracle 9 and 10 RAC, MySQL
- Weblogic platform,JBoss
- Server Hardware: Dell 26xx, 28xx, Blade Center, Various SUN, Egenera and 3par Storage
- Familiarity with Virtual Computing Environment - VMWare ESX/GSX
- Strong understanding of SNMP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, PKI, SMTP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewalls
- Familiar with best practices, security, and server hardening
- Understanding of client server technology, java and C programming
