Support in-house developed applications and/or off-the-shelf Linux- and Web-based business applications (Weblogic, Apache, Tomcat, Sendmail, Wiki, SocialText, and etc)

Worked as a independent UNIX/Linux System Administrator to support mission critical, front-end business application in a key technology supplier or a similar Global Investment Bank environment . Need to have working knowledge of Sun Solaris OS, Red Hat Linux, TCP/IP Internetworking, HP Openview System Monitoring, BMC Patrol System Monitoring, NFS/NIS, Checkpoint Firewall, Netscape Proxy/Web Server, Shell Scripts for System automation.

Provide daily technical assistance, troubleshooting and maintenance of UNIX servers running Sun Solaris and Redhat Linux.  This candidate will work with Database Administrators to support servers running Oracle and Sybase.  (Sample application support includes but not limited to Triarch, Imagine, Pirate, CODA, CTO, AWS, CRK)

Provide technical detailed information and analysis to managers suggesting recommendations and options as an input to decision making for technology deployment. This also includes implementation of proactive monitoring, troubleshooting and problem resolution tools.

Linux – 60%, Solaris – 40%
