DESCRIPTION: The UNIX Administrator will be responsible for installation, administration and support of network computer systems, associated operating systems and various business applications. Hardware of all major manufacturers will be supported. Operating systems support and administration includes Sun Solaris, HPUX and Redhat Linux.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
-Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
-5+ years experience in system administration and support
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
-3-5 years systems administration experience in Sun/Solaris, Linux, HP-UX
-Proven experience in most aspects of UNIX systems administration, such as the configuration of mail systems, system installation and configuration, printing systems, and installing third-party software
-Basic TCP/IP networking concepts
-Knowledge of Sun Microsystems Solar OS (Ver. 2.5.1, 2.6, 2.7) installation, configuration and maintenance
-Knowledge of Network Information System (NIS), Domain Name Service (DNS), Network File System (NFS)
-Proven experience compiling and installing C/C++ and vendor-supplied "shrink-wrapped" programs and packages
-Knowledge of Sun Microsystems' Jumpstart OS Installation software, HP Openview network management software
-Knowledge of Apache web server software installation, configuration and maintenance
-Proven experience/knowledge of trouble-shooting computer hardware/software problems and replacing/upgrading computer hardware, Shell Scripting (Perl, Bourne, SH, KSH, CSH)
SALARY RANGE: 90-130K+Bonus
