SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER |
|
- Participates in configuring local and wide area networks. Builds, configures and maintains network switches, routers, load balancers and various VOIP and security appliances.
- Knowledge and expertise in local and wide area networking and communications including; all forms of networking media and STP, PVST, IGMP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP-II, VoIP etc.
- Knowledge and expertise of Cisco Systems networking hardware and software and network and security support systems including HP Openview, Solarwinds, Cisco Works 2000 (LMS and VMS), Cisco Secure Access Control Server, etc.
- Knowledge of Checkpoint and Nokia security hardware and software.
- Knowledge of network performance monitoring and investigative tools including Cisco NAM-II, MRTG, Cacti/RRDtools and packet sniffers such as Ethereal and Network General.
- Is part of the team responsible for the operation and daily management of mission critical network and security systems.
- Coordinates outages, handles fault resolution and communications with business groups.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and technical procedures.
- Ability to solve practical problems while maintaining strict compliance with existing policies, procedures and established standards.
