80% working from a helpdesk phone providing support for 800+ users while administrating our Active Directory and Solaris NIS database. Support for desktop software and hardware, high level skills in Microsoft Office XP, Windows XP Professional, Adobe , Active directory user id maintenance, creating UNIX user id’s and setting permissions on the UNIX file system.
- Provide day-to-day support via telephone.
- Create trouble tickets and dispatch Desktop Analyst to end users.
- Support hardware including PCs, printers, laptops, hand held and RIM devices.
- Support desktop software and firm-wide applications.
- Support Remote access systems.
- Help deploy new software applications.
- New user ID creation/deletion and maintenance.
- Provide support for our external clients with internet access problems to our site.
- Automating system administration tasks.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to design and use system administration scripts.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel within the Firm.
- Strong understanding of Windows XP and MS office applications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong customer service focus and experience
